Definition
Richter syndrome is the transformation into diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or Waldenström macroglobulinemia.
Clinical features
It should be suspected in cases of:
- Fever
- Night sweats
- Weight loss
- Elevated LDH
- Onset of bulky, asymmetric, painful lymphadenopathy
Laboratory findings
Histological confirmation after lymph node biopsy/excision.
