Definition

Aspiration pneumonia from food.

May be related to swallowing disorders due to pharyngeal muscle involvement in dermatopolymyositis or esophageal akinesia in scleroderma.

CT

Alveolar-type opacities characteristically predominating in the posterior segments of the lower lobes.
