Definition
Chronic acneiform infection of the apocrine glands, generally affecting the armpits, groins, or intergluteal fold.
Clinical features
Pain, redness, warmth and subcutaneous nodules in the folds and affected regions, which may spontaneously fistulize to the skin
MRI
Because of the possible association with Crohn disease, pelvic MRI may be performed in cases of hidradenitis of the intergluteal cleft to look for an associated anorectal fistula.
