Definition
Cystic lesions, often familial and multiple, with autosomal transmission.
Appears in adulthood.
Location: scalp.
Clinically presents as a hemispheric tumor of variable size, with a smooth surface lacking a central punctum, corresponding to the popular term "wen."
Particular form: proliferating trichilemmal cyst is a solitary, violaceous, often large cutaneous tumor, occurring mainly in elderly women in the occipital region, resulting from proliferation of a trichilemmal cyst, either primary or secondary.
