CT
Ovoid cystic hypodense lesion located in the ventrolateral epidural space, without communication with the posterior facet joints, and without significant osteoarthritis
MRI
Ovoid cystic lesion, T2 hyperintense, T1 hypointense, with peripheral enhancement after gadolinium injection, adjacent to a degenerative +/- protruding discal space
Differential diagnosis
Ganglion cyst of the posterior longitudinal ligament: Differentiation would be made by discography, which allows opacification of the discal cyst but not the ganglion cyst of the PLL.
