Definition
Tumor of the dural sac, developing below the conus medullaris.
This tumor is predominantly solitary and located below T9.
More common in children.
Clinical features
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage
MRI
Lesion extending over several vertebral levels.
Vertebral erosions.
Widening of the canal and foramina.
Highly vascularized tumor.
- T1: variable signal, higher than the spinal cord (due to intratumoral mucus deposits)
- T2: hyperintense
- After gadolinium injection: enhancement.
