Definition
Buford complex:
Absence of the anterosuperior labrum (0-3 o'clock) with hypertrophy of the middle glenohumeral ligament
Clinical features
1-2% of the population
Asymptomatic
MRI
Absence of the anterosuperior labrum (0-3 o'clock) and cord-like hypertrophy of the middle glenohumeral ligament, with its proximal insertion on the superior labrum.
The middle glenohumeral ligament is the same size as the long head of the biceps brachii tendon.
