Gliomas are graded from I (pilocytic astrocytoma) to IV (high grade: glioblastoma).
Grade II gliomas, or low-grade gliomas (LGG), remain asymptomatic for a long time.
Early diagnosis and management are essential for patient survival
CT
Hypodense expansile process
MRI
Localized or diffuse expansile process of the white matter without contrast enhancement.
T1 hyposignal, T2 hypersignal, iso diffusion.
Spectroscopy: increased choline (increases with glioma grade), decreased NAA.
Increased myo-inositol in low-grade gliomas.
