Definition
-1% of the population, the most common accessory fissure.
-Aberrant course of the azygos vein running within a more or less deep invagination of the pleural layers, thus forming a pseudo-fissure.
-Delimits an accessory lobe that is not truly a lobe, since, unlike the other lobes, it does not have its own bronchial and vascular pedicle.
-The azygos lobe generally belongs to the apical segment of the right upper lobe, but may also be attached to the ventral or dorsal segment of the right upper lobe.
