Definition
An ulcer forming within an atheromatous plaque, eroding the intima and then the internal elastic lamina, subsequently forming a collection within the aortic media.
Clinical features
Semiology similar to aortic dissection, with interscapular pain radiating downward
CT
CT angiography:
saccular parietal outpouching, communicating with the vessel lumen and deforming the outer contour of the aortic wall.
