Definition
Falciform ligament torsion belongs to the group of localized infarcts of the peritoneal fat.
The falciform ligament of the liver connects the liver to the diaphragm and the anterior abdominal wall; anteriorly, it marks the boundary between the right and left lobes of the liver.
The round ligament is a fibrous remnant of the umbilical vein that runs along the free edge of the falciform ligament and connects the anteroinferior border of the liver to the umbilicus.
