Definition
Impingement between the lesser trochanter and the ischial tuberosity affecting the quadratus femoris muscle
Clinical features
Population: women between 30 and 70 years of age
Buttock pain increased with external rotation
No history of trauma
Radiography
Ischiofemoral space <2 cm on standing AP pelvic radiograph, or <1.9 cm on supine pelvic radiograph
MRI
Narrowing of the ischiofemoral space ≤ 15 mm
Quadratus femoris muscle edema
+/- enhancement at the hamstring insertion
