Definition

Characterized by diffuse interstitial lung disease (infiltration of the pulmonary parenchyma by inflammatory cells, a significant proportion of which are eosinophils), associated with blood or tissue hypereosinophilia

Clinical features

Respiratory symptoms combining cough and mild dyspnea with general symptoms including fever and weight loss evolving over several months prior to diagnosis

CT

Non-segmental peripheral subpleural alveolar consolidation or ground-glass opacity, predominantly affecting the upper lobes
