Definition

Loose calcified body located between the layers of the tunica vaginalis.

Ultrasound

Reference examination 3
- Extratesticular intrascrotal calcified image, usually solitary, though occasionally multiple, round.
- May measure up to 1 cm in diameter,
- Discrete acoustic shadowing
- Frequently associated with a reactive hydrocele

Differential diagnosis

- calcification of the tunica vaginalis: linear calcified plaque with acoustic attenuation
