Definition
Benign congenital condition characterized by multiple small osteosclerotic islands preferentially affecting the metaphyseal-epiphyseal regions of long bones, the pelvic and scapular girdles, and the small bones of the carpus and tarsus
Clinical features
Usually asymptomatic. Possible associations with: - Melorheostosis - Palmoplantar hyperkeratosis - Disseminated lenticular dermatofibrosis - Focal dermal hypoplasia (Goltz-Gorlin syndrome, autosomal dominant)
Radiography
Multiple small osteosclerotic islands, round or oval, well defined, dense.
Distribution: Metaphyseal-epiphyseal regions of long bones, pelvic and scapular girdles, small bones of the carpus and tarsus.
