Definition

Congenital cystic lesion of neuroectodermal origin, with its own wall and glial epithelium.

Preferentially supratentorial, involving the frontal lobe, and adjacent to the ventricles.

Stable appearance over time.

Clinical features

Asymptomatic +++
Headaches

CT

Hypodense appearance
No calcifications or hemorrhagic stigmata

MRI

T2: rounded or ovoid hyperintensity.
FLAIR: suppressed signal (hypointense)
Gado: no enhancement

Differential diagnosis

Porencephaly
Arachnoid cysts
Ependymal cysts
