Definition

Metastatic pleural involvement accounts for the vast majority of pleural tumors.

Approximately 40% of pleural metastases originate from a lung tumor, 20% from breast carcinoma, 10% from lymphoma, and 30% from other tumors.

CT

Nodular pattern along the pleural surface, sometimes resulting in diffuse pleural thickening similar to that seen in mesothelioma

and/or Rapidly recurring pleural effusion.
