Definition
Benign lymphoproliferative disease, either localized or multicentric, due to hyperactivation of the immune system.
Clinical features
Clinical manifestations are heterogeneous, ranging from latent asymptomatic adenopathy to recurrent episodes of diffuse adenopathy with severe systemic symptoms.
Laboratory findings
Biological inflammatory syndrome, hypergammaglobulinemia, autoimmune factors
Radiography
Mediastinal mass +/- displacement of adjacent structures due to mass effect, ipsilateral pleural effusion
CT
Nonspecific appearance.
Large mediastinal or abdominal mass and adenopathy, +/- hepatosplenomegaly, pleural effusion or ascites
Nuclear medicine
Hypermetabolic lesion
Management
Immunosuppressive treatment
