Definition
Tumor arising from lymphocytic cells.
Rarely primary.
Most common secondary form.
Predominates in the periportal region.
Often associated with immunosuppression (HIV, immunosuppressive therapy)
Mean age: Hodgkin lymphoma = 40 years, NHL = 60 years
Clinical features
Asymptomatic
Right upper quadrant pain
Hepatomegaly
Weight loss, general deterioration
Jaundice
Laboratory findings
Elevated AST, ALT
Ultrasound
Multinodular form:
- small hypoechoic lesions
CT
Multinodular form: - well-defined hypodense nodules - low enhancement Diffuse form: - iso- or hypodense area - low enhancement
MRI
Multinodular form:
- lesions hypointense on T1 and hyperintense on T2
Diffuse form:
- T2 hyperintensity
Gadolinium: low enhancement
