Radiography
AP VIEW:
-disruption of the first two Gilula arcs
-triangular appearance of the lunate
-fractures of the perilunate carpal bones*
LATERAL VIEW:
-lunate/capitate dislocation
Classification
Classification (retro-lunar):
– Type 1: lunate under the radial overhang,
vascularization intact
– Type 2: posterior ligament ruptured, anterior horn of the lunate attached to the radius (possible rotation up to 270°)
– Type 3: both posterior and anterior ligaments ruptured, lunate dislocated anteriorly, at risk of necrosis
