Definition

Second most common benign cardiac tumor after myxomas

Clinical features

Often an incidental finding, although some rhythm disturbances may be associated with it

MRI

Typical appearance, homogeneous, with regular, smooth margins. With characteristic hyperintensity on T1-weighted spin echo given the very short T1 of fat. Several other sequences can confirm the lipidic nature of the tumor, which can be located both within the cardiac chambers and in the pericardium

It is rarely obstructive or compressive
