Definition
Lymphocytic, plasmacytic, and eosinophilic infiltration of the pituitary gland and pituitary stalk, resulting in fibrosis.
Clinical features
Headaches
Diabetes insipidus
MRI
T1: hypointensity and increased height of the pituitary gland, disappearance of the physiologic posterior pituitary bright spot
T2: hyperintensity
Gadolinium: intense enhancement
Differential diagnosis
Pituitary adenoma
Sarcoidosis of brain
