Definition
Benign bone tumor most commonly affecting the vertebrae, followed by the skull, the bones of the facial skeleton (particularly the mandible), and more rarely the long bones.
Clinical features
Usually asymptomatic and thus an incidental finding
CT
Osteolytic lesion, often located in a vertebral body, typically showing fine internal trabeculation, without cortical breakthrough or locoregional invasion
In the skull vault:
- mainly the frontal and parietal bones
- single diploic lucency with honeycomb-like spiculations or a radiating (sunburst) appearance
