Definition

Epidural abcess of spine is secondary to extension of spondylodiscitis in 80% of cases.
Primary hematogenous: risk factors: diabetes, drug use, immune deficiency, cancer, corticosteroids
abscesses often multifocal, extensive

Epidural collection, T1 hypointense, T2 hyperintense, with peripheral enhancement
